FLYING FERRET #1, COVER

I love this cover, but there are a couple of problems with it.  First off, it's not proportional to a true comic page size, so when I worked on the printed version, the title is completely wacked out of proportion and doesn't look right.  Also, for some odd reason, I can NOT recreate that pose and expression!  So, I had to go with a new pose that needed to fit against the re-preportioned lettering.  So, enjoy this cover, it is a one-in-a-million.

So, what inspired the Flying Ferret.  Well, it came from a collaboration with a friend, who would now not want to admit to creating Flying Ferret.  Anyway, we just wanted a character that was the combination of Batman, Superman, Wolverine and dash of the Incredible Hulk.  Originally, the character was going to be equipped with retractable guns in his fore-arms and retractable rockets came out of his calf muscles, painfully, of course, like the Wolverine's apparatus.

As I wrote the character, I had intended to do this, I even hinted at it with Issue#7, where he has a shopping list on his fridge.  One of the items is "ammo" which was for his arm machine guns ("armed"... get it. Heh. Haha).  At any rate, I kept putting off the appearance of these weapons until I came to the conclusion that I just didn't want to do it. Not because I'm against guns or anything (I'm not), but because he was no longer that character.  So, of course, the "ammo" in the shopping list became weapons he needed for the Winged Stryker Jet he was rebuilding.

That's it.  Thanks for reading my first comic.  Hope you stay on!
