Flying Ferret #24, Page 6.
I may have gone a little overboard on this page with the Swift 3-D. Yes, I suppose I did. I'm still working with it, but I really like the program. At some point I'd really like to build FF's Ferret-mobile in the program, and use that rather than my own skills at drawing the car. Is that cheating? I don't think it is really, because it's still my design, still I'm manipulating the form and shape to acquire the final product, still I'm choosing the angle at which I wish it to be viewed. Most times I have a very particular angle I would like, but many times my abilities seem limited. Sigh. I do wish I could draw a lot like other artists. I really liked this one artist, and I can't remember his name, but I know he worked for Marvel, and I can't remember the title he worked on, but he drew this really nice shot of a car, and how I wished I had drawn it.
Oh well.
That aside, Another favorite page. Took longer than I wanted to, but it's pretty good. I think the most time took just coloring all of those characters in the last panel!! When I was almost done, I realized I forgot to put in Underbrush! So, rather than put him in the background behind the rest, which would've been easy to do, I put him off to the side like peeking in, which probably looks silly, but I like it.
And now I'm officially fell behind my schedule. I stupidly took on the National Novel Writing Month contest. I have to have a 50,000 word novel done by the end of the month. It's mostly to build your discipline to write a novel. Not a great month to hold this contest, I tell ya! Thanksgiving, my birthday, my wife's birthday. Play auditions will start up. Yes, I'm going to try out again... I'm SOOOO stupid. Why do I do this to myself. So, I'll be working on next week's strip today, though. It's an easy page, I just have to get to it...
Later.
