Well, not such as big of a delay as I thought.  Happy Mother's Day, by the way!

I explained this on Facebook, but I'll say it here.   My deadline for June was rather unrealistic.  I'm just to inundated with caricature work, trying to spend weekends with my family, etc., has really put the crunch on working on the printed comic, so it had to give away.  Does it mean I'll never do a printed comic. Heavens, no.  It just has to go on the backburner again.  My goal now is to have it done before September, so I can have copies when I go to a comic convention in St. Paul.  That's the plan anyway....

Well, here's the new page, by the way. Lots of questions here.  Looks like Johnny isn't the true leader of the group, that he's working for some "higher ups."  Who are they?  Well, that again, is something that will take a little time to tell, but for now, we will continue along this storyline.

I should be working on my caricatures, but I was having such trouble getting them to look right, not to mention I just came off a stint of caricature gigs that I'm feeling a little burnt out.  So, I decided to switch gears and finish this page before returning to them again.  I think it's helping.

Pretty good, eh? Another page out by the weekend here.  Of course, there's always a snag.  This coming week will be a busy week for me.  I have several caricature projects in the works AND I have two caricature gigs Saturday night, so there will not be a comic that weekend, but I will try to get one up by the following Wednesday.

Corporal Punishment.  The character started out as one of my brother's characters.  Had an entirely different look, was colored differently, but when I was trying to think of a member that was a former ally of Major Fitt, General Public and Captain Wondrous, I went the obvious route and called him Corporal Punishment. I thought it was also fitting that he be the son of the Speed Bandit, as mentioned in issue #21 where Wondrous dies.  I really try to tie my world together, and more tie-ins will be revealed in this issue, too, plus some action!! I can't wait to get to it. I was so happy to re-write this issue as it was soooo talky, and not funny enough to warrant it either, and I still get all of the info I want out there as well.

Anyway, I'm feeling better lately. I hope to get back to working on the printed comic as I have a looming deadline.  Man, how time flies!

When I say the name "Plazma," I say it just like Dr. Evil says "Magma" in Austin Powers.  Sometimes I'm so simple-brained. I like this character, and I even had an extra page devoted to her, but I think it was unfair to the other two characters I've introduced here.

Anyway!  No news on our house yet. As time crawls on, I wonder if we'll get it at all. Wife is impatient, but I've kind of accepted it, that it will be awhile before we know anything.  I always pray it will be soon.  We need to get out of this house! I have been sick for almost two weeks now, and I think it has something to do with this basement that's prolonging it.  I'm getting better, slowly.  I can last the whole now before I'm tuckered, achy, and coughing like an old woman. (Even though I'm sick, I'm still going to work, when really, I should just stay home.)

Well, you don't want to hear about my ailments.  You want to hear about how my printed comic is coming along. Uh... not well.  Again, with being sick, I have had so little energy. Amazing that I even got a page out.

I've been in a reflective/nostalgic mood lately (what else am I gonna do when I'm feeling sorry for myself while I'm sick), and I discovered that Kenzer & Co.'s current issue of Bundle of Trouble used my artwork for it's cover!  That really brought me back to those days of being creative and drawing a lot.  I'm really missing my creative periods. Okay, I won't whine about how little time I have anymore.  I'll stop right there.  Just have to effectively use whatever time I happen to squeeze out of the day.

Easter weekend, didn't think I'd actually get a comic strip in, but all right, I did it! 

So, here's Aunti-Gravity. Yeah, obvious, stupid joke there. Not based on any known character, just sort of filling out the ranks of Brigade of Bad, since I felt they weren't big enough to take on more than a few superheroes, and they need some firepower, too, which is coming up.

Still working on the printed comic. Getting there. I may still make my goal of June.  Still haven't heard news on the house. It's very frustrating, but soon... very soon we're told.

Not much else to say.  I'm tired and have to get up early in the morning.

I find RR to be one of my brother's best creations. I do hope he can find the time someday to revealing his origins, because it is very cool.  I have been one of the lucky ones to see the early drafts of his stories.  He should clone himself so one can work on Khan, one work on his music, and the other to do RR.

In other news... good/bad, however you want to take it, especially in light of that fact that I have started up the comic again:   we are very close to getting a house again. YAY! We're very excited, we are happy that the girls will get rooms of their own so they don't have to all sleep in one room together. It will really cut down on the in-fighting and who is responsible for making the room messy.

But this means, I will have to devote time to fixing it up so we can actually live in it.  This means I will not have the time to devote to the webcomic or the printed comic (typical, I say).  I will TRY to work on it when I can, but I can't promise it. Sorry for this.  It always seems to happen this way, as soon as I get up and running again, something stops me dead in my tracks.  The good side of this is, eventually, we will be settled in (I estimate about a month), my new office will be set up and ready to create comics again! (I can't wait for that. It's not fun, and doesn't do much for the morale when you work in a small office space you share with a catbox, water heater and storage).

So, I can't wait!  I hope the word comes through soon that we have the house.

I wrote a bunch of stuff, and now it's gone for some reason. DANG COMPUTERS! Now I can't remember what I said.  Basically, I think I said that getting back on schedule with the webcomic has helped in working on the printed comic. I can't ape my brother's style, but I hope I've drawn RR well enough so he's identifiable.

Well, if I remember the rest, I'll post it.

Okay, Flying Ferret has been dormant long enough.  I've given enough space now (date-wise) for my brother to complete his comic whenever he's able and ready to finish it.  I really want him to focus on his own comic strip (which is what he should do), rather than spend time on my stuff, which won't get him anywhere.  He needs his own thing, and I don't want to be impeded that in any shape or form.  Best of luck, Brother, I'm 100% behind you.

I know I said I wasn't going to start up the comic again until I finished my printed comic, but that's just not working out like I had hoped.  I put unrealistic expectations on myself with all that's going on.  So, I'm hoping that I can not only work on the online comic, but also work on the printed comic at the same time (I was kind of doing it before).  Hopefully, this will keep me focused, and if I feel like I'm "losing interest" in a current page, I'll just jump to the other one to work on for awhile.

Also, I'm done with my "Miss Tootsie" duties (not that that I had much do), and have passed on the title, so I no longer have that hanging over my head. Free man, yeah!

So, anyway, here we go...

I also have to break my bad habit of internet surfing (do they still use that term). It yields nothing and distracts me from my purpose of completing the printed comic and eventually get back to updating the comic. I'm sure I've lost the last few readers I've had.

*Sigh* The Miss Tootsie is done after this weekend, so I will be free after that.

And family things right now, plus we're all agonizing on a house deal right now, too.

I don't know what else to say. Just, sorry that I haven't kept the site up lately. I was doing really well there for awhile there, wasn't I?
